Bald Head Island |
Without question, the beauty of Bald Head Island
is the outdoors. Fourteen miles of unspoiled beaches call you to
soak up the sun or watch tiny sea turtles as they hatch and make
their way out to the sea. Walk to the tip of the Cape Fear where the
waves from the Atlantic Ocean merge from opposite directions and
you'll feel like you're far away from civilization. To the north, a
tidal creek and salt marsh are brimming with a variety of sea life
on aqua culture. On a kayak, you'll see the island from a whole
different perspective. Or take a totally different trek
through the maritime forest, where marked trails will let you on a
wildlife journey through live oaks and palmettos. If you're lucky,
you'll see the red fox carrying home his dinner. And when the
scenery wears you out, there's plenty more to do.
