Ferry Procedures

We will make your ferry reservations and email them to you on your booking confirmation along with a ferry confirmation number. You will need to confirm your ferry reservations by calling the ferry office 30 days prior to your arrival date.

Please allow at least 30 minutes to unload luggage at the ferry landing, park your car and purchase your ferry tickets. Upon departure, make sure all luggage is placed at the end of driveway at designated tram pick-up time.

Parking and ferry accommodations are not included in our rental rates. Currently, parking is $9/day. Currently, ferry tickets are $23/adults and $14/children between the ages of 3 and 12. The cost of the ferry includes your tram ride to your accommodations.

When you arrive at the ferry landing, you will need to purchase your tickets and notify the attendant that you have arrived. Be sure to bring your parking ticket with you and do not leave it in your car. It is much easier to pay for the parking upon departure with your parking ticket already in hand then to have to go back to your car and retrieve it before paying.

When you arrive on the island, no one from our rental agency will be at the ferry landing to meet you. Please ask the tram operator who is greeting arriving passengers or at the ticket office about your tram assignment. You are responsible for claiming your luggage (as you would at a baggage claim at the airport) and taking it to your specific tram.

How to Pack

Bald Head Island's baggage handling system is similar to that of an airline, so guests should pack as if they were flying to their destination. When guests arrive at the Indigo ferry landing, they should place their luggage on the baggage racks and make sure an outfitter is aware of their luggage. Nametags are required on all luggage and boxes. Loose items such as open-top bags or boxes, grocery bags, styrofoam coolers, jackets, shoes, tennis rackets, surfboards or fragile items such as video cameras must be hand-carried.

Large, bulky items such as bicycles will require a special cargo ticket that can be purchased at an additional fee when you arrive. These special cargo items will not be transported in trams due to size, sharp edges and grease. Cargo space on the ferry is limited; therefore, it is possible cargo items will not be transported along with passengers. These items may be claimed at the island ferry depot and transported using a golf cart provided with the accommodations, except bikes which must be ridden to the accommodations and may not be transported via golf cart.

Check-In Procedure

Our check-in procedure has changed and you will be notified prior to your arrival.

Accommodations Capacity

The number in your party should not exceed the maximum occupancy as stated under each listing. Private functions/parties are not allowed in rental accommodations without prior approval.

Linens

Linens are provided and will be set up for you at your unit. You will need to bring beach towels.

Furnishings and Equipment

All homes have fully equipped kitchens, washers and dryers, TVs, central heat and air, phones, pack and plays, highchairs and grills (except where noted). Some homes may have bikes for your use. We do not guarantee bikes and if the house bike breaks, we will attempt to get it fixed but we will be unable to replace it. A complimentary starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels and bath soap is provided at check in. Additional supplies can be brought with you or purchased. Locked closets are maintained by homeowners for personal use. Please respect these areas.

Security Deposit

A credit card number is required on all reservations as a damage deposit. Guests are responsible for any damages, other than normal wear and tear, that occur to accommodations, electric vehicles, or household furnishings as a result of their occupancy. Tiffany’s Beach Rentals reserves the right to charge the renter's credit card for any damages found, as permitted under N.C. Statute.

Housekeeping and Maintenance

Accommodations are thoroughly cleaned before each guest's arrival. If requested, additional housekeeping services are available at a special rate. Tiffany’s Beach Rentals strives to provide the best vacation accommodations on Bald Head Island but we cannot guarantee all properties to be free from defects and malfunctions or cleaning issues. We do not refund for such issues. In the event you do experience maintenance or cleaning issues, please contact us immediately and we will make every effort to provide service as soon as possible.

Attire

Although the BHI Clubhouse is a casual facility, a dress code is in effect. Smart casual attire is appropriate. Collared shirts are required on all Club property, except in the pool area, fitness room and locker rooms. T-shirts, muscle shirts and tank tops are not permitted in the dining room or lounge. Collared shirts are required on the golf course and driving range. Blue jean denim pants are not permitted on Club premises. Golfers must wear soft spikes on their golf shoes, which are permitted only in designated areas. Replacement spikes are available for purchase at the Club Pro Shop. Flip-flops are not permitted in the Clubhouse after 6 p.m. Dress shorts are permitted in the dining room and lounge. Men's hats are not permitted in the dining room after 5:30 p.m. All other facilities are casual.

Pets

Dogs, and only dogs, are allowed in rental accommodations designated dog-friendly only, otherwise pets are not allowed in rental accommodations. We reserve the right to terminate any rental, without refund, if pets are found on the premises, and charge an additional $300 to treat the property for fleas. Pet-friendly accommodations require a non-refundable fee.

Construction

Unfortunately, we cannot predict the location of all construction activity on the island and may not be able to inform you at the time you make your reservation whether or not your accommodations are near a construction site. We will not make refunds because of construction activity.

Internet and Cable

Should your cable or satellite television service, or internet service where provided, be interrupted or go out, we will make every effort to get it restored as soon as possible. We will not make refunds because of construction activity.

Severe Weather

If hurricanes or other extreme weather conditions occur, the Village of Bald Head Island may issue a voluntary or mandatory evacuation notice. We do not issue refunds due to inclement weather or lack of ferry service due to inclement weather because trip insurance is available.

Telephones

Tenant is responsible for all long distance calls. If you need to make a long distance call, you will need to use a calling card.

Groceries

There is a grocery store on the island offering a wide selection of basic staples, as well as fresh produce, deli items, seafood, over-the-counter medicine and video rentals. You may also bring groceries. All items need to be boxed up in boxes or large plastic bins.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing. In the case of cancellation, no refund will be given for any rental monies paid unless the home is re-rented for the same time at the same rate. If the home is re-rented for same time at same rental rate, your rental deposit will be refunded minus a 10% (of total rent) cancellation fee. In the case of a transfer, a transfer fee of $100 may be charged.

Airport/Limousine Service

Wilmington International Airport in Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach Jetport in Myrtle Beach, S.C. are the two closest airports to Southport. Third party providers offer limousine/shuttle service to the ferry landing.

Golf Carts

Each home will have available for use at least one golf cart. You must be a licensed driver to operate a golf cart. The Bald Head Island police department does enforce all traffic ordinances and violators will be subject to fines. If the golf cart stops working, we will attempt to have it repaired as soon as possible. If the golf cart cannot be repaired, we will arrange to rent a replacement, subject to availability. Do not let your children drive the golf carts. They are not toys and cost an average of $3,000. Golf carts are to be left at the accommodations at time of departure. You are strictly prohibited to leave the golf cart/s anywhere except at the property to which they belong at check out, and that if the golf carts are left elsewhere, you will be liable for the full value of the cart, should it be lost or damaged, as well as a golf cart retrieval fee, not less than $125 as well as any fines associated with the golf cart.

Rental Homes for Sale

In the event that the property you are renting is on the market for sale, we may find the need to show the property during your stay. We will make every effort to schedule the showing at a convenient time and not interrupt your vacation.
